Designed by one of the most influential architects of the twentieth century, Richard Neutra, this property has dazzled and inspired neighbors and Santa Barbara visitors alike since 1955. This iconic home had a unique style that was classic Neutra with walls of glass blurring the lines between the interior and exterior spaces. Richard Neutra helped define modernism in Southern California and around the world. He is considered among the most prominent and important modernist architects along with Frank Lloyd Wright. Also known as The Slavin House, it was one of only three remaining Neutra homes in the Santa Barbara area. The property has enormous ocean, island, harbor, wharf and downtown Santa Barbara views. Sadly, the home was extensively damaged by a fire but the original plans survive.
